How long does counseling take?

During the first few counseling sessions, time-framed therapeutic goals will be established.  Throughout the duration of treatment, those stated goals will be evaluated for progress and adjusted where necessary.  Counseling services typically end when a client has reached and maintained the personal goals they wished to address via the assistance of a counseling professional.

Are counseling sessions confidential?

Yes, communication between counselor and client during counseling sessions is confidential.  As a client in counseling, you are guaranteed the protection of confidentiality within the boundaries of the client/counselor relationship.  The only limitations to confidentiality occurs when a counselor sees evidence for imminent danger to the client or someone else, or when legal demands are made that confidential information be disclosed such as a court order.  Disclosure of protected communication and information in the client/counselor relationship can only be made with your full written informed consent.
